Pupils from St Joseph's NS, Carlow with their principal Fergal Browne on their recent visit to the Browneshill Dolmen

PUPILS from St Joseph’s NS, Carlow stepped outside the classroom recently to learn more about the wonderful history right on our doorsteps. First-class pupils visited the Browneshill Dolmen, taking the short walk up to the historical site with the largest dolmen capstone in Europe.

Prior to their visit, school principal Fergal Browne had explained to the boys about the megalithic structure in a PowerPoint presentation, while the pupils also took on a colouring competition and wordsearch relating to the dolmen – all piquing their interest in this wonderful local site.

Any groups or schools wishing to learn more about the Browneshill Dolmen are welcome to phone 087 9884113 to arrange a visit or talk via Zoom.
