Hive to become chamber’s headquarters

THE Hive, a innovation and community hub at Enterprise House on O’Brien Road, Carlow will become the headquarters of County Carlow Chamber and three other businesses, thanks to a €100,000 investment by the LEADER programme.
The project will repurpose existing space within Enterprise House to provide three affordable enterprise offices and a dedicated business and community clinic room, alongside the chamber’s headquarters. The offices will be rented to businesses employing one to three people, offering an alternative to traditional commercial leasing arrangements.
The integrated facility is part of the Carlow Community Enterprise Centres CLG social enterprise model to have commercial workspace, business supports and community services under one roof.
The hope is that by repurposing existing infrastructure at Enterprise House, The Hive will deliver economic and social value to Carlow.
Annette Fox, CEO of Carlow County Development Partnership, which administers Leader funding, said the organisation was “delighted” to help deliver this project.
Similarly, the president of County Carlow Chamber Norah Ryan, who is also a board member of Carlow Community Enterprise Centres CLG, said the chamber was “excited” to be part of the new development.
