Applications open to host students from Tempe
Carlow County Council Poster for Tempe-Carlow Student Exchange Programme.
CARLOW Co Council has opened applications for a Carlow-Tempe exchange programme for students aged 16-17 years.
Tempe is a city of 161,000 people just east of the city of Pheonix, which is the state capital of Arizona in the USA.
The programme will run from June to mid-July and asks for families in Carlow to host a student from Tempe for three-and-a-half weeks in exchange for their child being hosted by a family in Tempe for three-and-a-half weeks.
The council will cover the cost of the flights to and from the US as part of the programme.
Laura Kelly, the council’s community development officer, who is running the programme, said that this is a “fantastic opportunity to represent Carlow abroad and create memories that will last a lifetime.” To apply, students need to contact Laura Kelly from the council by emailing lkelly@carlowcoco.ie.
