Take the Outrun Hunger challenge and raise funds for food kitchen
Charity event take place this Saturday
THE Outrun Hunger fundraiser for St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen is taking place at Carlow Rugby Club, Oak Park on Saturday 19 October. Registration opens at 8.30am, with the race starting at 10am.
It’s estimated that 350 to 400 runners, walkers and joggers will take part in the event.
A place in the run is €20 for adults and €5 for under-18s, who must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. In the corporate challenge, it’s €200 for a team of four.
The fundraiser, in aid of St Clare’s Kitchen, is a show of ‘corporate social responsibility’, organised and funded by local businesspeople to keep the kitchen running. For every €2 raised, the kitchen can provide a meal for someone in need.
The event promises to be a morning of community spirit and celebration.
