FIVE ST LEO’s College students will take part in the regional finals of the prestigious Junk Kouture competition tomorrow, Wednesday March 11 at The Helix, Dublin.
Junk Kouture is a nationwide competition that calls on students to design and create high-fashion outfits using only recycled and repurposed materials. Thousands of students submit entries each year from across Ireland.

St Leo’s will be represented in the competition by three different entries. Alexandra Hennessy and Lucy O’Donoghue for their ‘Memories in the Margins’ design; Nia Pavliashvili and Daria Velychko with their ‘Shellsational’ piece and ‘Eco Aviator’ by Ava Malone.
Each of these students transformed everyday waste materials into striking fashion pieces and impressed the judges for their creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to sustainability.
At the regional final, these pieces will be showcased on the runway in front of the judges and a live audience on the Helix’s iconic stage.

Reaching this stage of the competition is a testament to the talent and dedication of the students and that of their teachers, Ms Tara Gooch, Ms Lauren Connors and Ms Orlaith Hennessy.
Best of luck to all involved as they take to the stage tomorrow!
