Official opening of 21 new homes in Tullow

Councillor John Pender, cathaoirleach of Tullow Municipal District, officially opened 21 new homes in Tullow this morning

CARLOW County Council officially opened 21 new social housing units at Traynor Avenue, Thomas Traynor Road, Tullow earlier today.

The development was formally opened on Monday 8 June by cllr Ken Murnane, cathaoirleach and cllr John Pender, cathaoirleach of the Tullow Municipal District.

The residential scheme consists of 21 modern homes, providing much-needed accommodation for individuals and families on the council’s housing list. The development forms part of Carlow County Council’s ongoing commitment to increase the supply of social housing and support sustainable communities across the county.

The homes at Traynor Avenue have been designed to a high standard with a focus on energy efficiency, accessibility and integration into the existing community. The scheme represents a significant investment in Tullow and will contribute positively to the long-term housing needs of the area.

Welcoming the development, chief executive of Carlow County Council, Coilín O’Reilly said: “This development at Traynor Avenue represents a significant addition to Carlow’s social housing stock and reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes for our communities. These homes will provide long-term security and improved quality of life for the families who will live here.” Cllr Ken Murnane, cathaoirleach of the county council, added: “I am delighted to officially open this excellent development in Tullow. The provision of these new homes will make a real difference to the lives of the families who will live here, offering them stability and a place to call home, while strengthening the fabric of the local community.” Cllr John Pender, cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of Tullow, commented: “This is a very welcome development for Tullow and the wider area. The delivery of 21 new homes at Traynor Avenue highlights the continued focus on meeting local housing need and demonstrates the positive impact of sustained investment in our towns and communities.”
