A 'MASSIVE crater’ has been left on the road at Ballinacarrig, Carlow following roadworks there and needs to be urgently repaired, said one councillor.
Cllr John Cassin raised the issue at the recent meeting of the county council, pointing out that when work is being done on a road temporarily it “should be put back safely until they come back to do it again”.
Director of services Padraig O’Gorman confirmed that the contractor at Ballinacarrig would be in place shortly but agreed that the “onus is on contractors to reinstate the road as they found it”.
“We do follow up in places where this wasn’t the case. If it is an issue, let us know and we will follow up with the particular concern,” Mr O’Gorman said to members.
