MACRA lunch will celebrate women in agriculture

The lunch takes place on Thursday 5 March at Lyrath Estate, County Kilkenny

MACRA and the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) have announced that tickets are now on sale for their third annual International Women’s Day lunch, taking place on Thursday 5 March at Lyrath Estate, County Kilkenny.

The theme of this year’s event is Unstoppable: Women Driving Progress. Josephine O’Neill, Macra President, said: “We're delighted to see the return of our International Women's Day event in association with the ASA and proudly sponsored by FBD. Women have always played an integral role in driving progress behind the scenes in rural Ireland. We look forward to shining a light on inspirational women and showcasing their achievements in Irish Agriculture.”

Held in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8th, the event will bring together industry leaders, professionals and advocates to celebrate and recognise the contribution of women across agriculture and rural Ireland.  Macra and the ASA are delighted to have FBD on board as sponsors and supporters once again. All proceeds from the lunch will go to Breast Cancer Ireland, following the success of last year’s event, which raised almost €9,000 for the charity. A raffle will again take place on the day in support of this cause.

Doors open at 11 am for registration and a chance for attendees to meet and network, allowing a chance to connect ahead of the main event. A three-course lunch will be served at 12 noon, followed by a panel discussion. Speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets are priced at €35 per person, or €250 for a table of eight.
