Former IFA chair fêted for dedication and service

FORMER chair of Co Carlow IFA John Nolan was honoured at the organisation’s recent officers’ meeting in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow.
Much to John’s surprise, Co Carlow IFA’s current chair Michael Purcell made the presentation to John, thanking him for his years of service and his great work on behalf of farmers.
John led farmers on a number of the farming organisation’s delegations both locally and nationally during his tenure and was also to the fore in campaigning and lobbying in relation to the many issues affecting farmers.
John was also thanked for his dedication and service by Paul O’Brien, chairperson of South Leinster IFA.
Mr Purcell took over the role of county IFA chair in 2024.
