Storm Chandra brings a yellow rain warning

Carlow County Council have issued the following update regarding road closures in the county: 

The N81 in Rathvilly is closed due to flood waters from the Slaney.

The Leighlin Road L-3920 is currently flooded and impassable at Lanigan's Lock (Crossneen Road,) while in County Laois, the council is working to safeguard this road and are asking the public not to pass or remove the road closed signage. 

The Quinnagh Road is closed due to flooding. 

Skrannahane, Ballinkillen Road is closed due to flooding. 

Ballinrush Road near Myshall is closed due to damage caused by flowing water. 

As we reported earlier, high water levels from the Burren have resulted in Carlow Town Park being closed to the public, while the car park in Tinnahinch is closed.
