Carlow donors honoured for reaching blood donation milestones
The ceremony recognised local donors who have reached milestones of 50 and 100 donations
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) has honoured some of Carlow’s most dedicated blood donors at a special awards night held at the Talbot Hotel on 17 April.
The ceremony recognised local donors who have reached milestones of 50 and 100 donations, celebrating years of quiet, consistent commitment to ensuring a safe and steady supply of blood for patients across Ireland.
Every donation has the potential to save lives, from emergency situations to ongoing treatments, making the contribution of long-term donors particularly significant.
The IBTS said the evening was a celebration of community spirit, acknowledging not only the achievements of those honoured but also the life-changing impact their generosity has on recipients and their families.
The service is continuing to call on new donors to come forward and support what it described as a vital service, ensuring blood remains available for those who need it most.
