Becca to play at Scraggs Alley

Becca Mitchell and Oisín O'Reilly performed at this year's Electric Picnic festival

A YOUNG singer/songwriter from Carlow, Becca Mitchell, is having the summer of her life, having already played at the Electric Picnic festival in August.

Becca scooped a competition called Electric Youth, run by Youth Work Ireland in Co Laois, winning a chance to play on the Hazelwood Stage in the Electric Picnic festival in Stradbally.

It was an unforgettable experience for Becca (21) and bandmate Óisín O’Reilly.

It’s all part of Becca’s career trajectory as she’s studying music production at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dún Laoghaire.

Becca is the daughter of Linda and Wayne Mitchell.

She is now hosting an intimate gig on Friday 6 September in the Good Room at Scraggs Alley, Carlow, where she will be accompanied by Óisín on guitar, Ciara McNally on drums and Marko Majerník
on bass.

This will be her chance to debut her original music as well as playing some well-known cover songs.

Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets, at €10, are available at the door.
