KATIE Byrne, a sixth-year student at Tullow Community School, recently became Carlow Lions Club’s ‘Young Ambassador of the 21st Century’ after a close-run competition against four other exceptional candidates in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.

WHEN an array of sought-after items went under the hammer, the generous Carlow public didn’t disappoint, with a fantastic €7,500 raised at the recent Carlow Lions Club charity auction.

Organised by members John O’Donovan and Tom Clowry, the auction attracted support from businesses and individuals from across Co Carlow and beyond
