WHEN an array of sought-after items went under the hammer, the generous Carlow public didn’t disappoint, with a fantastic €7,500 raised at the recent Carlow Lions Club charity auction.
Carlow Lions Club is thrilled with the resounding success of its recent charity auction in the Seven Oaks Hotel which, thanks to the remarkable generosity of local businesses and members of the community, raised €7,500 in support of Éist Carlow Cancer Support Centre. The funds raised will significantly aid the day-to-day operations of Éist, allowing it to continue providing essential support services free of charge to those facing cancer in Carlow and surrounding areas.
These services, which include counselling, practical assistance and emotional support, are crucial for individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer at every stage of their treatment.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this important cause,” said Tom Clowry, president of Carlow Lions Club. “Your support enables us to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Community-driven initiatives like this are the backbone of our mission to support those in need.”
John O’Donovan, project leader for the event, echoed these sentiments: “The support from local businesses and community members was nothing short of inspiring. It is heartwarming to witness the collective effort to support Éist Carlow Cancer Support Centre. Every contribution, large or small, plays a vital role in providing care and comfort to those battling cancer.”
Carlow Lions Club extends its heartfelt thanks to all who participated, donated and supported the event.
“We are deeply grateful for your generosity and look forward to your continued support in our future projects,” said Lions president Tom Clowry.
