CARLOW Little Theatre Society is delighted to be returning to the stage of the George Bernard Shaw Theatre this March with Eugene O’Brien’s much-lauded and award-winning play Eden.

Eden is the powerful story of an ordinary relationship on an extraordinary weekend. Billy and Breda are approaching their tenth wedding anniversary. Breda is determined that this will be the weekend that saves their marriage. But Billy is more concerned with Imelda, the beautiful young woman he has his eye on.

From the writer of hit RTÉ́ drama Pure Mule, Eden is a story of stale love and fresh lust in the Irish midlands. Eden was the winner of Best New Play at both the Irish Times Theatre Awards and the Stewart Parker Awards in 2001.

Eden will mark the long-awaited return to the director’s chair by Jo O’Donovan and is presented by arrangement with Eugene O’Brien c/o of Curtis Brown Group Ltd.

Eden contains strong language and adult content and is suitable for ages 16-plus. Performances take place nightly on Wednesday and Thursday 12-13 March.

The cast includes Billy, played by Paul McManus, and Breda, played by Aoife Reddy. Lighting is by Ann Nolan, stage design by Tadhg McSweeney and sound design by Paul Dunne.

Tickets (€20/€18) are available from the Visual box office.
