Free event on the trials and tribulations of menopause
There will be a free event about the menopause taking place in Carlow next week on World Menopause Day
WORLD menopause day is taking place on 21 October so the local Skillsnet organisation is hosting an event in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow for women who are either about to go through or are currently experiencing the trials and tribulations of that time of life for women.
There will be an afternoon of talks and panel discussions on the topic of supporting women who are experiencing menopause in the workplace entitled Holding onto talent.
The free event is hosted by Carlow-Kilkenny Skillnet in association with the Local Enterprise Office and Carlow County Council.
The organisers have said that the conference is designed to address challenges created by menopause directly by creating a supportive, evidence-based space where women, employers, healthcare professionals and advocates can come together to share knowledge, practical strategies and real-world solutions.
The focus of the event is to empower women to be healthy, confident and fully supported at work and in life during perimenopause and menopause.
The conference will feature five speakers: Dr Fionnuala Ni Ghrainne, a Carlow GP who in 1986 set up her own practice specialising in women’s health; Linda Murray, a qualified nutritional therapist and co-founder and director of Beoga Nutrition which helps clients achieve long-term health goals through sustainable nutrition; Alana Kirk, a former deputy director of UNICEF, bestselling author and leadership coach who has spoken a lot on midlife and women’s lives under pressure; Lisa Kleiner, a chef with a degree in nutrition, who became a bean-to-bar cacao producer after learning about its incredible health benefits; and Denise Whelan, an organisational development consultant who has over 20 years of experience in leadership and HR, whose job it is to partner with companies to align their people strategies with their business goals.
The event is running from 2pm to 5pm so to register, go to https://www.carlowkilkennyskillnet.ie/holding-onto-talent-supporting-women-through-menopause
