Students from Spotlight Stage School at PERFORM in the RDS with their teachers Julie Hanna, Stuart O'Connor and Ciara Armstrong

STUDENTS from Spotlight Stage School got their chance to grace the stage with Ireland’s very best as they took their place at Ireland’s biggest performing arts festival.

Perform took place recently at the RDS, welcoming over 3,200 dance, gymnastics and musical theatre students over its two days. The event also featured dozens of workshops from local and international talent in all genres – dance, singing and acting, along with the opportunity to meet and greet the best in the businesses.

An exhibition zone also offered an opportunity to meet colleges, shop for gear and much more.

The Spotlight students took to the stage in the early afternoon of the second day of Perform with an energetic and fun-filled eight-minute dance routine.

Featuring students aged seven upwards, the joy, enthusiasm and professionalism of the Spotlight crew was once again there in spades.

Huge credit to their teachers Ciarán Keating, Julie Hanna, Ciara Armstrong and Stuart O’Connor, who had their young charges step-perfect, and the students for all their hard work getting ready for Perform. An amazing reaction from the crowd made their performance one of the main highlights of the day.

Spotlight now sets its sights on its upcoming show 'Time to Celebrate 30 years of Spotlight Stage School' in Rathwood Big Top this May, featuring every students from the stage school.
