Ronan Collins to perform in Visual

BROADCASTER and singer Ronan Collins is performing the last concert of his Showband Hits & Stories nationwide tour in Visual on Sunday 1 December.
With his knowledge of the showbands, stars and songs of that golden era, Ronan will sing the hits and tell the stories from an amazing time in Irish life.
Ronan began his career as a drummer and singer with The Others and Dickie Rock in the showband era. They were performing in RTÉ in 1979 when he heard of and went for auditions for the national broadcaster’s new station, Radio 2.
He has been on radio and TV ever since, making the change to broadcasting on Radio 1 in 1985, and to RTÉ Gold in 2023.
He held the prestige of maintaining one of the longest-running successful radio shows on Ireland’s national radio station.
He can still be heard on RTÉ Gold from Monday to Friday, but he is now also focusing on his first love – the showbands – and is wrapping up his current tour, based around favourite songs of the showband era, in Visual.
