Woman (30s) dies in collision in Co Monaghan, man (50s) arrested

A woman in her 30s has died following a crash between an HGV and a car in Co Monaghan on Thursday morning.
The collision happened at around 8.00am on the N2 at Mullaghnee, Annalitten, Castleblayney.
The woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for a post-mortem.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
A man in his 50s has been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a station in the Garda North Western Region.
The road is currently closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N2 between Castleblayney and Broomfield between 7:30am and 8:15am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
