The coroner has been notified, and the road has since reopened.

Lochlainn Doherty, now 19, appeared at Buncrana District Court in connection with the deaths.

The collision, involving a car and a motorcycle, occurred on the N73 near Mitchelstown, Co Cork at around 1.40pm on Sunday.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination, and Gardaí are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

The driver of a motorcycle, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on the R121 at The Ward at approximately 12:40 a.m.

A man in his late teens and a man in his 40s died following road incidents on Tuesday, and a woman in her 80s died following a crash on Monday. 

The road was closed for technical examination, but it has since reopened.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for a post-mortem.

One of the drivers, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem.

The incident took place at around 9.45pm on the N24 at Cordangan Cross.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris also paid tribute to the victims, while Garda Superintendent Liam Geraghty said it was particularly stark that they were speaking on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
