A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Termon, Co. Donegal, on Friday.

The collision occurred on the N56 at approximately 4:30 pm.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 30s, was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-serious injuries.

The scene is currently preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions remain in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Road users who were travelling on the N56 between the Lagoon Restaurant & Guesthouse and Creeslough between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Friday who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
