Man (40s) dies in Dún Laoghaire shooting

A man in his 40s has been killed in a shooting in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
The shooting occurred at around 8.30am on Sunday morning at Patrician Park, Kill Avenue, Dún Laoghaire.
The man's body remains at the scene.
A postmortem will occur in due course and the coroner has been notified, a garda statement said.
The scene is currently preserved for technical examination and road closures are in operation, including at Kill Avenue and Glenageary Road Upper. Diversions are in place.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Anyone with any information, including road users who may have camera or dashcam footage, who were travelling near Kill Avenue, Dún Laoghaire between 8am and 9am on Sunday have been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
