Man (40s) dies after being hit by car in Kildare

A male pedestrian in his 40s has died after a collision with a car in Kildare Town on Tuesday.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of the fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on the R445 in Co Kildare, at approximately 6pm.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced deceased and his body remains at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
The road is currently closed between Monastervin and Kildare Town with local diversions in place.
A technical examination will be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 5pm and 6:30pm on Tuesday evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
