Gardaí seized €2.3 million worth of drugs in Blanchardstown

As part of an investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs, gardaí seized approximately €2.3 million worth of suspected cocaine, cannabis and MDMA on Friday 28th August 2026.

The operation was carried out by the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT), who observed and intercepted the handover of suspected drugs in a public place in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

Gardaí seized approximately 18 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €1.8 million. An additional 4 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €400,000 was seized from a vehicle located at the scene.

Two males (aged in their 50s and 60s) were arrested and are currently detained in a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

Investigating Gardaí conducted follow-up searches, which resulted in gardaí seizing an additional 5000 MDMA tablets, worth an estimated €50,000, and 4 kilograms of cannabis herb, worth an estimated €56,000.

In total, the estimated value of the seizures is €2.306 million.

Authorities will forward the seized drugs to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
