€950,000 worth of crystal meth and cannabis seized at Dublin Airport

Officers seized more than €950,000 worth of crystal meth and cannabis at Dublin Airport from a passenger’s luggage on Sunday.

A woman has been detained after the drugs were discovered, vacuum-packed in the baggage of a passenger who had got off a flight from Canada.

Revenue officers, with the help of a detector dog called Charlie, found an estimated 29kg of herbal cannabis and 6kg of crystal methamphetamine in the luggage.

The bust has been pictured, with bags of the illicit drugs spilling out of two large suitcases.

The cannabis has an estimated value of €584,000, and the crystal meth is valued at more than €368,000

The woman, in her 50s, has been arrested and is being held at Dublin Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
