Murphy’s in Tullow wins Easter lamb challenge

MURPHY’S Butchers in Tullow continued their impressive run of form on the awards circuit when they scooped the overall award in the Irish Butchers’ Guild Easter Lamb Display Challenge.

This follows their notable success over recent months in the Blas na hÉireann food awards and the Good Food Ireland awards, among others.

The annual competition recognises members of the Irish Butchers Guild who go above and beyond to showcase the very best of Irish lamb during Easter and highlights the vital role local butchers play in presenting high-quality, locally-sourced produce in an engaging way for customers.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be named overall champion,” said James Murphy. “It is a great reward for the hard work and attention to detail the team puts in every day. Competitions like this really showcase the best of Irish butchery and we’re proud to be part of that,” he added.

Judging was based on three key areas: overall display, visual appeal and aesthetics, and creativity and innovation.

Murphy’s presentation stood out for its attention to detail, outstanding product quality and an eye-catching showcase that judges felt captured the spirit of the season.
