This significant project has transformed a long-standing derelict building into high-quality, energy-efficient homes that will provide safe and secure accommodation for individuals and families. The development has been described as representing a strong commitment by Carlow County Council and its partners to urban regeneration, sustainability and the delivery of housing in central, well-serviced locations.

Minister Browne welcomed the project as “an excellent example of how derelict buildings can be repurposed into productive use to meet urgent housing needs, while also revitalising town centres.

Cllr Browne said the development not only provides much-needed homes but also breathes new life into an historic part of Carlow town.

Mayor Phelan thanked all those involved in the successful delivery of this project, which he said “stands as a model for future urban housing and renewal efforts”.
