Count 14 

Catherine Callaghan (FG) has just taken the second seat in the Carlow/Kilkenny constituency. 

Catherine was pushed over the line after gaining a massive 4,784 votes from her party's running mate, David  Fitzgerald who had been eliminated in the previous count. 

Catherine is a first-time candidate in the general election, having lost out by a single vote in the local election in County Carlow during the summer. 

Her surplus of 2,460 are now being distributed. 

Those still contending for the remaining three seats are Peter Chap Cleere (FF), Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (FF), Natasha Newsome Drennan (SF) and Áine Gladney Knox (SF). 

Deputy returning officer said that the count will continue through the night until all seats are filled.
