Carlow’s GAA history will be on full display in the upcoming TG4 show

SCÉALTA na gCorn returns for its third season this Thursday, 17 April, and Carlow’s GAA history will feature prominently in one of the six episodes. at 8pm in a six-part series airing weekly on TG4.

Presented by Gráinne McElwain, TG4’s Scéalta na gCorn (Silverware Stories) brings viewers on a journey across the country to uncover the remarkable stories behind some of the most treasured trophies in Gaelic games. From cups named after historic Irish patriots to more recent legends of the GAA, each episode offers a unique insight into the people and communities who have shaped the games we love.

In series three, Gráinne hits the road once again, meeting the families, friends, and club members who keep these stories alive. She explores the legacy of the names behind the silverware – and the deep pride felt by those who play for them.

Episode three will see Gráinne in the Dolmen County, where she explores Carlow County Museum’s display of retired silverware with Aingeal Uí Dhálaigh, including the historic Carlow Senior Football Championship Cups.

At Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairisc, she meets Bríde de Róiste and learns about the Cumann na mBunscol competition named in her honour, and in Myshall she uncovers the story of the Tom Nolan Camogie Cup and a few lost trophies that found their way home.
