THE CARLOW Farmer Wellbeing Day will take place today, Monday 11 November from 10am to 1pm at Leinster Mart, Killeshin Road, providing vital support and resources for the Carlow farming community.

This unique and much-anticipated event aims to address the many challenges faced by farmers today, offering a range of services focused on health, safety and overall wellbeing.

Farmers and their families are invited to enjoy a day filled with valuable resources, including:

Free Health Checks: Keep your health in check with complimentary health assessments provided by qualified professionals.

Information Stands: Engage with a variety of organisations offering insights and advice tailored to the farming community.

Farming Advice: Connect with agri-specialists, who will provide expert guidance on farming practices and addressing current agricultural challenges.

Free haircuts: Pamper yourself with complimentary haircuts, ensuring you leave feeling refreshed.

Free first-aid kits: Equip yourself with essential first-aid supplies to ensure safety on the farm.

Lunch included: Enjoy a delicious complimentary lunch.

“This event is an opportunity for our farmers to focus on their wellbeing, while also accessing the information and support they need to navigate the challenges they face,” said Michael Brennan, director of services, Carlow County Council.

“We encourage all members of the Carlow farming community to join us for a day dedicated to their health and welfare.” Speaking about the initiative, cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, cllr Fergal Browne shared his enthusiasm: “This is a fantastic programme we are piloting and we hope to engage the farming community around Co Carlow. The Farmer Wellbeing Day on 11 November in Leinster Mart will be a unique opportunity to meet organisations, agri-specialists, get advice and information. We will have free farm first-aid kits, health checks and lots more on the day. It’s an opportunity to address the many challenges faced by farmers today, from mental health to safety on the farm,” said cllr Browne.

“We invite all farmers and their families to attend this important event, where their health and wellbeing are the top priority. Together, we can strengthen the resilience of the Carlow farming community.”
