LOGAN Foley Styne’s family threw a party in the Seven Oaks Hotel on the afternoon of 20 June to say thank you to everyone who supported the family through the various fundraisers they held to support Logan and his family through his treatment for Leukaemia. The Carlow town family said that they were overwhelmed by the amount of support the local community has given their family during the course of Logan’s illness.

The money raised by the fundraisers was used to cover the cost of getting Logan to treatment at Crumlin Children’s Hospital in Dublin and to support his four siblings.

On 16 June, Logan was given the all-clear of cancer after first being diagnosed with Leukaemia three years ago and he was able to ring the bell to mark the end of his treatment.

“It was a lovely day, loads of support, and everyone showed up. Logan had a ball,” Logan’s aunt Orla Cahill told The Nationalist.

The party began at 2pm and went on until 7.30pm and there was food, dancing, face painting and karaoke and singing, led by Lisa Mackey. Over 200 people attended the celebration over the course of the afternoon.

At the party, special mention was made of Logan’s grandmother Ann Langton, who has been an amazing support to Logan’s mum Mia as she cared for Logan’s siblings while Mia accompanied Logan to treatment in Dublin. Mia and Logan both made speeches at the party.

“Thankfully, Logan is back to his normal routine. He is happy to be back with his siblings,” Orla said.
