SMALL BUSINESSES and budding entrepreneurs across Carlow can register for a variety of networking events as part of this year’s Local Enterprise Week, with a key focus on making connections.

The week will run from Monday to Friday 3-7 March, hosting events open to all, from budding entrepreneurs to established businesses, providing an opportunity to get expert advice on key areas of business, from financial skills, raising funds, exporting and boosting businesses online to future trends such as sustainability and digitalisation.

The events also include the county final of the Student Enterprise Awards, the National Enterprise Awards county final, Women in Business events and business and networking meets.

Speaking about the week, cllr Fergal Browne, cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, said: “This year, we are focusing our week on networking. Business networking isn’t just about exchanging cards or handshakes; it’s about building relationships that create real economic value.

"Strong connections open doors to new markets, foster collaboration and drive innovation. The more we engage, share and support one another, the more we strengthen our local economy, create opportunities for growth and build a business community that thrives together."

Kieran Comerford, head of economic development and enterprise at Carlow LEO, said: “Local Enterprise Week is a fantastic marker in the road for any business. It’s an opportunity to take stock of where you are, see where you can grow, where you can innovate, or maybe become more sustainable and see what resources are available on your doorstep.

"There is something for everyone and for those who maybe always had that ambition to start on their own or a great idea, this is the week to see how to get started and make it happen.”
