Tinryland hub gets one step closer

All welcome to attend the public meeting about the new Tinryland Community Hub

A COMMUNITY dream is edging closer to reality as Tinryland Community Hub committee gets ready to hold a public meeting in the local parish hall at 7pm on Thursday 10 April.

A group of like-minded residents got together in November 2023 with a view to starting Tinryland Community Hub, a space to interact with others in a cosy, homely atmosphere. The hub is a not-for-profit project and will be run solely by volunteers, with any profits used for further development.

To date, the committee has put in a huge amount of work behind the scenes, filling in forms for grant applications before deadlines, meetings with the council and various organisations and market research as well as sourcing equipment – all with an eye to minimising costs. The committee is also planning to recycle as much as possible. “Currently we have applied for various grants and we also intend to broaden our funding streams and ask our community to participate in fundraising initiatives,” said a committee spokesperson.

While the hub is looking for contributions, it doesn't have to be monetary. They would be grateful to tradespeople offering services for small jobs while setting up (plumbers, carpenters, painters) and for volunteers when the hub is up and running. If you would like to help, please email tinrylandcommunitycafe.hub@gmail.com. F

urther fundraising activities will be posted when organised. All are welcome to the public meeting to voice opinions, give ideas and hear future plans.
