A FUNDRAISER in aid of Annette Foley's battle with breast cancer, held at Murray’s Bar in Ballymurphy last Friday evening, was “a great success,” said Annette’s sister Deborah.
A Kilkenny band, Final Call, featuring Becca Fox and Barry Kavanagh played music. The band actually sparked the idea for the fundraiser after Annette’s sister Susan met them while they were playing in Lanzarote. “Hats off to them – it’s such a kind thing to do,” said Deborah.
The GoFundMe has raised thousands of euros to support the family and Deborah said they are very grateful.
The event on Friday brought family and friends from all over Ireland and the UK to Carlow.
“There was a fantastic turn-out, the weather was lovely and the band had everyone up dancing. The beer garden was packed as well.
“My uncle’s bike club, The Forbidden, came out in force on the night to support, too,” said Deborah.

"We are blown away by how much the community has come together for Annette and Darren as we know too well that this kind of devastation is close to home for so many. It’s a very stressful and difficult time and you would do anything for your own,” said Deborah.
