“Today’s event merged environmental, social, physical and mental wellbeing through a range of meaningful initiatives, all in a spectacular setting,” said Dee Sewell, environmental awareness officer. “We were delighted to showcase Carlow’s Food Cloud Kitchen, which served delicious meals made entirely from food that would otherwise have gone to waste. The African storytellers added something truly special, reminding us that land isn’t just for growing food but also for cultivating plants that become the clothes we wear.”

Mayor of Carlow Municipal District cllr Fintan Phelan praised the event, saying: “Embracing Change was a shining example of community collaboration, showing how wellbeing, environmental awareness and physical activity can come together to inspire and empower. Duckett’s Grove came alive with positive energy and I commend everyone involved for their vision and commitment to making wellbeing and sustainability real and tangible. It’s fantastic to see this historic venue being used to its full potential.”

Minister of state Jennifer Murnane O’Connor also expressed her support: “Events like Embracing Change demonstrate how we can build healthier communities by making wellbeing inclusive, accessible and engaging. From the menopause talk to the cultural storytelling and food sustainability initiatives, this was a day that truly nourished both body and mind.”
