BroCon Properties Ltd received planning permission today, 16 February 2026, for the development of 35 housing units on a vacant site in Tullow town centre.

The site sits along the N81 to the southwest of Lidl and the southeast of Parkville United A.F.C. It was previously used by Brophy Agri Services. The two empty sheds on the site will be demolished for the development.

In their place, there will be 14 three-bed, semi-detached houses, 7 three-bed and four two-bed terraced units, and a block of 10 two bed duplex apartment units. All buildings will be two-storey.

Cllr Brian O’Donoghue wrote in support of the application, stating “Tullow Municipal District needs to increase house building urgently and this development, close to the town centre, is very welcome and much needed in the particular location which has been vacant for several years.” The neighbouring football club said the development will reduce anti-social behaviour on the site.

There will be 61 car parking spaces, a bicycle shelter and 2 EV charging spaces pn the grounds. The existing roads will provide access to the dwellings.
