Fiach brings the unique sound of ALDOC to The Tower at Dinn Rí

WELL-KNOWN local musician Fiach Moriarty will take to the stage in Carlow on 26 September when his band ALDOC bring their distinct sound and energy to The Tower Live at Dinn Rí.
ALDOC are a unique group who blend traditional Irish music with influences from around the world, including the New Zealand roots-reggae scene.
Their sound has previously been described by Celtic rock legend and Horslips founding member Jim Lockhart as “glorious music that creates its own genre – playful, exuberant, virtuosic; a joy to listen to”.
The group was formed by Alan Doherty, known for his contribution to soundtrack, as well as for being the frontman of Gráda. It also features the talents of Alex Borwick, who has played with Sam Fender and Lankum, and Shay Sweeney, who has worked with Hudson Taylor, Rachel Mae Hannon and Ham Sandwich, to name but a few.
Attendees can expect a broad range of sounds, including traditional flutes, electronic beats, electric guitars and thumping rhythms.
Carlow GAA supporters who travelled to Croke Park for the recent LGFA All-Ireland junior final may already be familiar with one of ALDOC’s tunes, which is a regular feature at GAA HQ.
“There’s a song that some of the people in Carlow would have heard recently. When the teams run out in Croke Park, there is an ALDOC song called that plays, so people who are regular visitors to Croke Park will instantly recognise it,” says Fiach.
Providing support on the evening will be Carlow folk-rock duo Asophonics â Aaron Thompson and Sophia Jones â who are fresh from the release of their debut EP and a performance at Forest Fest in Laois.
