Influential business and sporting figures to speak at summit in Co Carlow

AFTER the success of last year’s event, the Carlow Club Business Summit is returning with an exceptional line-up of business professionals and sports people.

The event, titled Breaking the Ceiling in Sports and Business, promises in-depth interviews and fireside chats with some very influential figures from the business and sporting world, including former Irish rugby coach Joe Schmidt, champion jockey Rachael Blackmore, Caroline Keeling from the Keeling Group and CEO of Kingspan Gene Murtagh.

“The calibre of speakers this year is exceptional,” said David Walsh, chairperson of Club Carlow which is an event partner. “Each has a unique story of overcoming challenges, developing high-performing teams and building lasting success.” County Carlow Chamber and the council’s Local Enterprise Office have joined the summit as partners this year. President of the chamber Norah Ryan said this year’s theme is particularly relevant.

“The summit offers valuable lessons that can help organisations of all sizes navigate challenges and seize new opportunities,” she said. “It encourages individuals and organisations to challenge limits, embrace ambition and strive for excellence.” Members of Carlow Chamber can also avail of individual tickets for the event.

Cllr Tommy Kinsella emphasised the strong value of supporting local economic and community development.

“Carlow’s greatest strength has always been its people,” he said. “Our businesses, community organisations and sporting clubs all demonstrate the power of collaboration, resilience and shared purpose.” The summit will take place at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel on 6 November from 11am.

Tickets for the summit can be booked through Club Carlow at operations.carlow@gaa.ie or by calling 085 8098211.
