The Amgen Irish Open will return to The K Club this September, following a year in Royal County Down. The event is yet another highlight in what has been a historic year for Irish golf, with The Open having brought much fanfare to Royal Portrush on the North Coast, the success of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open earlier this summer, and of course Rory McIlroy’s completion of the career Grand Slam following his victory at the Masters earlier this year.

When asked about playing at the Amgen Irish Open again this year, McIlroy, who confirmed he would play at the K Club earlier this year, said: “Playing in the Irish Open, in front of your home fans, is always a special experience. Growing up as a kid, I have so many great memories of going to the Irish Open.”

“The support the Irish players receive is unmatched. The scenes at Royal County Down last year were unforgettable. The roars walking down the 18th hole and the energy from the crowd will stay with me forever.”

McIlroy will be joined by close friend and Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry, who was equally looking forward to returning to the famous Ryder Cup venue.

“There’s no better feeling than playing on home soil and I’m already so excited for the Amgen Irish Open,” said the County Offaly man, who finished in a share of third at The K Club in 2023.

Other stars of the golfing world teeing it up are Pádraig Harrington and defending champion Rasmus Højgaard. Tickets start from just €35 for the Pro-Am which will feature Irish rugby stars Johnny Sexton, Tommy Bowe and Josh van der Flier, as well as live entertainment throughout the week.
