Episode 3 of third season of the GAA documentary series Scéalta na gCorn on TG4 on this coming Thursday, 1 May at 8pm will focus on Carlow. 

Presenter Gráinne McElwain explores Carlow County Museum’s display of retired silverware with Aingeal Uí Dhálaigh, including the historic Carlow Senior Football Championship Cups, which includes The Nationalist Cup which is presented to the county football champions each year. At Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairisc, she meets Bríde de Róiste and learns about the Cumann na mBunscol competition named in her honour. In Myshall, she uncovers the story of the Tom Nolan Camogie Cup and a few lost trophies that found their way home.

The Scéalta na gCorn (Silverware Stories) brings viewers on a journey across the country to uncover the remarkable stories behind some of the most treasured trophies in Gaelic games. From cups named after historic Irish patriots to more recent legends of the GAA, each episode offers a unique insight into the people and communities who have shaped the games we love.

In Series 3, Gráinne hits the road once again, meeting the families, friends, and club members who keep these stories alive. She explores the legacy of the names behind the silverware – and the deep pride felt by those who play for them.
