Victoria’s loving her new hair after raising €3k for charity

Victoria with her cheque for the funds raised
NINE-YEAR-OLD Victoria Bayley is loving her new hairstyle after the big chop last week.
The Green Road NS student recently donated 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust through her Locks of Love campaign and is beyond thrilled with her new look and the attention the campaign received. Victoria managed to raise €3,200 in the two weeks the fundraising campaign was open, all of which will be donated to LauraLynn Children’s Hospice to support its work with children with life-limiting conditions.

When Victoria’s mother explained to her that people donate their hair to have wigs made for people suffering from hair loss, Victoria knew straight away it was something she wanted to do.
“I said, if you want to do it, I will support you in whatever way, and we can raise money for charity as well,” her mum Alison recalled.
Although Victoria’s iDonate page is now closed, contributions can be made directly to LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.
