THERE was a joyful and emotional day for the Ukrainian community in Carlow, marking the first anniversary of the Ukrainian Saturday School and the official opening of the Ukrainian educational and cultural centre, The Wings. Held each week at Carlow Methodist Church, the school supports Ukrainian children in preserving their language and staying connected to their culture and heritage.

The celebration brought together students, parents, teachers, volunteers and members of the church community for a heartwarming day of unity and resilience.
