Two gardaí have been released from hospital after their patrol car was hit by a stolen car during a high-speed chase in Dublin.

Gardaí were responding on Monday night after a car had been stolen following a burglary in Santry.

During the operation, the stolen car collided with a marked patrol vehicle. The occupants of the stolen vehicle fled on foot.

Two members of An Garda Síochána exited the vehicle and received assistance. Both were conveyed to hospital for treatment.

Both members of An Garda Síochána have since been released from hospital.

An Garda Síochána continues to provide welfare support to the members as they recuperate and to their families.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
