The temporary traffic restrictions around Shamrock Plaza have been lifted as the two derelict structures that were deemed dangerous by the council at Shamrock Square have been successfully demolished.

The structures were demolished overnight on the night of 23/24 November and the building’s rubble removed over the following days.

Traffic restrictions had been in place since 14 November when the council said that a report they had commissioned concluded that the two buildings on the site were at risk of “imminent collapse”.
