STAFF and guests at the Talbot Hotel Carlow put their mental strength, physical stamina and generous nature to the ultimate test recently and emerged with five stars!

The local hotel held a fundraising five days in aid of St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen and raised a fantastic €2,060 for this worthy cause in our local community. From a table quiz to a competitive spinathon, food donations in lieu of admission to The Dome and lots of generous donations, the response was incredible from everyone who wanted to help.

“We saw in The Nationalist that St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen was looking for support, so we decided to fundraise here at the hotel,” said Sarah Breslin, sales and marketing manager at the Talbot Hotel.

“We wanted to support such an important service in the community, so we had a number of events over five days,” she added.

Sarah said that staff across all departments at the Talbot Hotel, from accommodation to catering, sales to the gym, were keen to get involved. There was also a great atmosphere and sense of fun among everyone … along with lots of competitiveness!

“Our guests were also delighted to support the fundraiser – it all went really well,” said Sarah.
