THE SUN shone down on a special event to remember a special lady recently as Clareville Montessori School, Carlow held a hugely successful 5km family run.

Owner of Clareville, Aisling Nolan, supported by Nicole Bolger and Sharon Fitzharris from the school, organised the 5km family run in aid of Carlow Hospice but also to support the children of the late Mairead Farrell from Cois Dara, Chapelstown and originally from Gowran, Co Kilkenny, who sadly lost her life to cancer in January this year.

As a first cousin of the late Mairead, Aisling and all involved were keen to support Mairead’s teenage children Jamie and Emily through this difficult time.

Hugely popular and highly thought of in her adopted Carlow, Mairead’s family are now coming together to support Jamie and Emily.

The family run also marked a significant milestone for Clareville Montessori School, Tullow Road, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The school is delighted to celebrate two decades of educating children in Carlow using Maria Montessori’s method of education.

On a beautiful Sunday morning, a terrific gathering of participants came along to enjoy the run, including members of the Nolan and Farrell families, current and past parents of the school, friends and the wider school community, all delighted to support this special event.
