New military pennant is blessed

A SPECIAL remembrance service and flag blessing ceremony was held in the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Tullow recently, which was celebrated by Fr Ger Ahern.
Veterans came from all parts of the south-east to remember deceased members of the Irish Defence Forces and in particular the 10th Infantry Battalion, 33rd Reserve Infantry Battalion and the Third Infantry Battalion.

Company Quartermaster Sergeant Dick Dreelan was master of ceremonies on the day who gave a history of their achievements and thanked the Tullow Parish Choir, conducted by Mary McQuinn.
Fr Ahern blessed a new pennant, which was made by Antoinette Sutton and Nicola’s Embroidery.
The flag was then received by Lieutenant John Doyle of Carlow.
