The 2 Johnnies announce new track 'Katie Daly' for May 1st release

The 2 Johnnies have announced they will release their new track, 'Katie Daly', on Friday, May 1st.

The release of the Tipperary duo's new music precedes their takeover of St Anne's Park on June 6th, where attendees will hear the song played live for the first time.

The 2 Johnnies will head to St Anne's Park for 'Pints In A Field 4', which will feature special guests Cascada, The Tumbling Paddies, Noel Furlong, Declan Nerney, and Tinie Tempah.

Their new song 'Katie Daly' centres "politicians and naggins of vodka", the duo said, adding that it will be the "track of the summer".

"This is a song that is sure to become an anthem at every Irish wedding, RAG week and house party around the country," they said.

Some of the song's lyrics include lines like: "To her house I do go calling // Cos Katie Daly is go hálainn."

In the chorus, The 2 Johnnies sing: "Katie play another tune, you know they have the country ruined // I’m working hard across the water, dreaming of John Daly’s daughter.

"I’ll ask her to marry me and raise a 10 child family // And oh what I wouldn’t give, to be down where Katie Daly lives."
