Man (30s) dies after car found in Cork river

A man in his 30s has died after his car was found in the River Bride near the Conna Road R628 in Co Cork.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the car in the water of the river shortly before 10am on Saturday.
The driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was brought to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road remains closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were travelling on the Conna Road R628 between 10pm on Friday December 19th and 10am on Saturday, December 20th, have been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
