Multiple schools across Carlow town and county have received a threatening email that there will be a mass shooting involving staff and children.

A woman arrested by gardaí investigating the murder of a six-year-old boy has been released without charge.

One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested after approximately 20kg of suspected herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €400,000, was seized in west Dublin.

The collision occurred on Santry Avenue shortly after 10pm on Monday, April 6th. 

Gardaí conducted a road policing operation over the May bank holiday weekend, commencing on Thursday and concluding on Tuesday morning.

A garda who fatally struck a man with his car and failed to remain at the scene has been remanded in custody.

It is understood the weapon was produced during an altercation between two groups of men on a housing estate.

No other injuries were reported.

The assets were forfeited following drug trafficking and money laundering investigations carried out by the Dublin Crime Response Team.

Close to 110 drivers were also detected holding a mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt.

Michael Dunne, aged 22 with an address in Co Kildare, appeared before Tullamore District Court on Friday.
